The laboratory conducts research on plant life in relation to the environment, studying plant diversity (flora, vegetation), interactions with ecological factors, and the practical applications of the results obtained, including the management of natural resources in natural and human-generated contexts and environmental restoration. Particular attention is given to monitoring vegetation in relation to global changes in high-mountain environments. Finally, attention is also paid to the ethnobotanical heritage, especially in cultivated plants, including their characterization and ex situ conservation.
