The Plant Systematics, Ecology, and Conservation Research Unit focuses on various plant research topics from a theoretical and practical perspective, coordinating the activities of the following teaching and research laboratories:

• Taxonomy, Systematics, and Evolution Laborator
• Plant Propagation and Reintroduction Laboratory
• Seed Ecology and Conservation Laboratory
• Environmental and Applied Botany Laboratory

For its teaching and research activities, the Unit also relies on departmental facilities such as:

• Plant Germplasm Bank
• Herbarium – Herbarium Universitatis Ticinensis (PAV)
